St Christopher Church is a community church located in the centre of the Newington Estate – a post-war development. The church was dedicated on 26th September 1955 by the then Archbishop of Canterbury Dr Geoffrey Fisher.
The church is central/evangelical tradition and is home to Ignite a café style Fresh Expression of church that meets on Thursday evenings. It is also home to The Big Local a thriving National Lottery funded community project.
St. Christopher was recently featured in Kent Wildlife Trust’s ‘Painting the town green Story book’ of Thanet – see below;
