The Novena
The Novena is the nine-day period of prayer that traditionally falls between Ascension (when Jesus physically departed earth for heaven) and Pentecost (when the first disciples were gifted with the presence of the Holy Spirit. It marks a time when Jesus’ disciples are said to have prayed constantly – stuck in an ‘in-between place’, waiting to see what God would do next. Let’s use it and prayerfully ask: ‘what will God do next in our lives and the Parish of St Laurence in Thanet?’

Community Hub
A huge thank you to our small but dedicated team of volunteers who on Mondays and Wednesday afternoons help in the Food Hub based in the St Laurence Parish Hall – Donna, Richard & Nichie, Richard & Ellie and Jane. The Food Hub is part of the Community Kitchen, the brainchild of the amazing Sharon Goodyer. It is distributing free food parcels to needy families in the Newington area and beyond.
