Thought for the Week
‘Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth’ (Colossians 3:2)
Think for a moment about some of the things preoccupy you each day. What do you think about the most? I wonder what proportion of this time is essentially spent worrying about non-essentials? It’s easy to become preoccupied with a multitude of things that we assume to be ‘important’ tasks whilst neglecting the spiritual. How often do you take a moment just to pause and think about God? What we focus our attention on becomes energized and the more that we fix our minds on the things of God rather than the things on earth, the more energized we become and what I call ‘God-instances’ occur in our lives.

The Week of Accompanied Prayer is for all who feel drawn to spending time in prayer. If you are interested, whether or not you have done anything like this before, please do feel free to get in touch to find out more. During the week, you are simply encouraged to put aside some time each day for prayer – we suggest 30 minutes.
You will be paired with a Prayer Accompanier, who will either phone you, or make contact via computer, at the same time each day for 20– 30 minutes. The intention is for you to listen to God through praying with scripture and in talking and reflecting with your Accompanier. There are limited spaces.
