Thought for the Week
It can be very easy to say ‘bless you’ without really thinking about the implications of such a phrase; most of us do it. However, what if we were to consciously seek to bless each person that we come across each day? There are numerous ways in which we can do so – a smile, a kind word of appreciation a joke, a small gift just to say thank you ... be creative. Just as God has blessed us abundantly, may we in turn be a blessing to others.
Re-opening of Churches
I am pleased to announce that the Shared Leadership Team and PCC have agreed that subject to thorough risk assessments and the implementation of all the appropriate health and safety procedures that from Sunday 19th July 2020 we can begin Phase 1 of our return to church.
Church Services
St Laurence - Said Holy Communion Sundays at 10am
St Mark - Service of the Word Sundays at 10am
St Catherine - Service of the Word Sundays at 10am
St Mary - church will not re-open for the time being however Local Warden John Vinson will say Morning & Evening Prayer each day.
St Christopher - No services for the foreseeable future.
Important notice: Please do not attend church if you feel unwell, have symptoms of COVID-19, have been in contact with someone who has or if you are in the high-risk category.You will be required to sign in on arrival and apply hand sanitizer. Please bring your own face masks/PPE, if you would feel safer doing so. Always adhere to Government social distancing guidelines, follow the directions of sides people. Leave promptly at end of the service and please do not stay behind to chat.
I must emphasise that these procedures and precautions are for everyone’s safety. If you want this to work then please adhere to these instructions. Failure to do so will mean that we might have to consider suspending services again.
For those of you unable or unwilling to return to church at the moment we will continue to live-stream Morning and Evening/Night Prayer every day and where possible record and/or live-stream the Sunday morning services. These will be available on the Parish of St Laurence Facebook Group page and YouTube. Other resources will be published on the parish website: www.stlaurenceparish-ramsgate.org.uk Parish News and Pew News will still be distributed in electronic and hardcopy format.
We will carefully monitor the situation and continue to follow Government and Diocesan advice. Please be patient with us we try to navigate our way through the coming weeks and months until such time as we can resume our normal patterns of worship.
