Should you have a gluten allergy and wish to receive communion please let one of the sides people know at least 10 minutes before the service starts so that a gluten free wafer may be provided (St Laurence).

OPEN CHURCH AT St LAURENCE:  This is running on every Saturday of each month through the summer: 4 May - 31 August. 10 – 2pm. Barbara Byne organises the rota and is looking for volunteers to man the 2-hour sessions: morning/afternoon.  This is important outreach work and really requires quite a workforce to make it work successfully.  PLEASE put yourself forward if you possibly can.  Barbara: 07867 974275.

 

MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA: For the third year St Catherine is hosting this event on 4 Fridays in May: 7pm onwards.

10^th  Kellet Gut Shantymen – singing sea-shanties

17^th  Thanet Community Gospel Choir

24^th  Knight and Daze – Old-Time Music sing-along  

31^st  Edward Greenhalgh on organ and Coastal Choir – a mixture of musical styles

ST LAWRENCE CLOCK APPEAL:

Saturday May 18^th Quiz Night. Doors open at 6:30pm for a prompt 7:00pm start with our very own Quiz Master Sharon Culter asking the fun and tricky questions. Tickets £5.00, pre book to guarantee a table, teams of up to eight are welcome. This is a very popular event and tables do go very quickly!! Please contact Freda on 07732864076 to book your place. Please bring your own, drinks, glasses and nibbles. There will be a raffle on the night.

PENTECOST BIG PRAYER: Sunday 19^th May.  As part of a national initiative on prayer, you are invited to join in the Big Pentecost Prayer. It is very simple, we can all do it – including our young people. How? At 5.30 pm on Pentecost Sunday stop what you are doing (safely), wherever you are and say the Lord’s prayer. That’s it - BUT you will be joining with thousands of others doing the same thing at the same time.
