THE COLLECT FOR TODAY
Almighty Father, who, in your great mercy, gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth. Through Jesus Christ, your son, our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit – one God now and for ever. Amen.

Thoughts and prayers are with the family of James Robert (Bob) Lambert who sadly passed away in March; he sang in the choir of St Laurence >20 years ago.
THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK
On this day in 1912, the Titanic struck an iceberg on its maiden voyage and sank 2½ hours later as 5 of its 16 watertight compartments were ruptured and consequently filled with water. There were insufficient lifeboats on board for the 2224 passengers and so only just over 700 people survived.

UPDATE ON THE STAGE RESTORATION AT ST MARK: Fabric has been purchased for the flats at the side of the stage and Frances Barnes has kindly agreed to use her sewing skills to construct them.
CHURCHES TOGETHER IN RAMSGATE PRAYER BREAKFAST: 9am Saturday, 4th May St Laurence will be hosting this – please if anyone able to offer help to set up, prepare, cook, serve and clear away the breakfast. Setting up will take place from 3pm on the Friday. Please contact Ann Gregson if you are able to offer help.
OPEN CHURCH AT St LAURENCE: This will run on every Saturday of each month through the summer: 4 May - 31 August. 10 – 2pm. Barbara Byne organises the rota and is looking for volunteers to man the 2-hour sessions: morning/afternoon. This is important outreach work and really requires quite a workforce to make it work successfully. PLEASE put yourself forward if you possibly can. Barbara: 07867 974275.
MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA: For the third year St Catherine is hosting this event on 4 Fridays in May: 7pm onwards.
