COLLECT and POST COMMUNION PRAYER for TODAY
Collect: O Lord Jesus Christ, who at your first coming sent your messenger to prepare your way before you: grant that the ministers and stewards of your mysteries may likewise so prepare and make ready your way by turning the hearts of the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, that at your second coming to judge the world we may be found an acceptable people in your sight. For you are alive and reign with the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit – one God now and for ever. Amen.
Post Communion: We give you thanks, O Lord, for these heavenly gifts: kindle in us the fire of your Spirit that when Christ comes again we may shine as lights before his face – who is alive and reigns now and for ever. Amen

SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE: Graham Elliott of St Catherine’s Church in Manston has recently returned from Ukraine, having driven a 4x4 vehicle there for use in supporting the front line. ST CHRISTOPHER: Keep fit and help out at the same time… with the Happy Mondays Group who are helping to clear & garden at St Christophers Princess Margaret Ave Newington CT12 6LG - every Thursday 12noon-3pm from now until Christmas. Just turn up dressed appropriately.

ST LAURENCE CLOCK RESTORATION APPEAL: “A Christmas Concert” performed by The Thanet Light Orchestra on Friday 19th December at 7:30pm. Doors open at 7:00pm. in St Laurence Church. Tickets are £10.00 per person which include refreshments during the interval. To book contact Freda.
ALTOGETHER COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CAROLS AT ST CHRISTOPHERS: Sunday 21st December 2pm-2.45pm – please come to sing from all our churches bring joy to the Newington estate – all generations welcome. Wear something jolly! If you would like a lift let Revd Catherine know.
MONTHLY BIBLE STUDY, DISCUSSION & REFRESHMENTS AT THE RECTORY: Weds evenings 6.30pm at the St Laurence Rectory with discussion & refreshments. Next is 6.30pm Weds 21 Jan 2026. For those new to faith and also for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the Bible (currently the book of Acts) and feel part of a supportive group. All are welcome from across the whole Parish.
ROCK SOLID 2: St Laurence continues Junior Church for children aged 4yrs -11yrs. It runs monthly, the next being, Sunday 11 Jan and onwards. It is fun-packed. Led by Kelly, Marion, Marcia, Andrea and Barrie - these leaders are experienced with children with autism and ADHD. All children and parents are welcome. Arrive 9.50am at the actual church for 10am start, ends 11.30am. And children are welcome in church every week.
