THE COLLECT FOR TODAY

Almighty Father, you have given your only Son to die for our sins and to rise again for our justification: grant us so to put away the leaven of malice and wickedness that we may always serve you in pureness of living and truth; through Jesus Christ your son, our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit - one God, now and forever. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

16th April is the feast day for St Bernadette of Lourdes and the date of her death in 1879. Her visions of the Virgin Mary took place at a grotto near Lourdes, the site of a spring with miraculous healing powers. This site has since become a place of international pilgrimage. St Bernadette became a nun in 1866, was beatified in 1925 and canonized in 1933.

PEOPLE FOR PRAYER

Those in need of our prayers: Lynne, Mick, Andy, Dave B, Peter, Shirley, Dave S, Margaret, David, Dennison. We give thanks for Kevin’s on-going recovery and the medical skills that have got him this far.
