ST LAURENCE PATRONAL SERVICE & PICNIC: A heartfelt thank you to all who gave so generously to our picnic lunch on Sunday. A special service, with such kind people. A day to remember for so many. Thanks again. God Bless. -Marcia Neve.
FAMILY WALKS: Well done to the 10 folk who walked last Tuesday, It was a particularly warm day and we were so glad that we chose to walk there only and drive back. Thanks to those who did the driving. Thanks to Amanda for her thoughts on pilgrimage and information about St Augustine. It was interesting to hear folk expressing how they were learning something new about the place in which they live. Our next is in September. Contact Julia for any more detail. Walk 4: Tuesday 16 September at 4pm Walking with Biblical Landscape During this walk to Pegwell Bay, biblical landscapes will be brought to our imaginations.
THANET FOOD BANK: All items of long-shelf-life food is very welcome, but the stocks of baked beans, ring-pull tinned desserts, tinned fish and tinned meals are particularly low.
SPIRITUALITY HOUR: Spirituality Hour continues monthly at Saint Laurence in the candlelit Beckett Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm, 10th September, 1st October, 5th November |

ST LAURENCE CLOCK RESTORATION APPEAL: Saturday 13th September is Heritage Open Day and St Laurence Church will be open for people to come and look round. There will also be a display on the clock restoration works and appeal along with a display on the bells and bellringing. We are hoping to encourage people to come and have a go at bell ringing during the day too. Please come along and support us. Dates for your diary: 1st November: Quiznight. 19th December: the Thanet Light Orchestra will be performing a Christmas Concert.

PASTORAL COURSE: 11am- 1pm Saturdays 20 Sept 18 Oct, 15 Nov. St Christopher’s Newington, led by the clergy team, lay-readers and others in our parish. Aim – to increase the number of Lay people able and confident in pastoral care within this Parish and home-visiting – please speak to your church’s Focal Minister or LLM Reader if you are interested in attending. Look out for more details in future Pew News.
COFFEE MORNING: Saturday, 30th August, 10:30 -12:00 at St Catherine’s, Manston. Bacon Butties will also be available. Bring and Buy table.
