Should you have a gluten allergy and wish to receive communion please let one of the sides people know at least 10 minutes before the service starts so that a gluten free wafer may be provided (St Laurence).

If you would like to wear a face covering or mask for your own comfort, you are more than welcome to do so.

BELLRINGING: Sunday 26^th May at 16:00 -17:30  Quarter-peal practice.  

 

OPEN CHURCH AT ST LAURENCE:  This is running on every Saturday of each month through the summer: 4 May - 31 August. 10 – 2pm. Barbara Byne organises the rota and is looking for volunteers to man the 2-hour sessions: morning/afternoon.  This is important outreach work and really requires quite a workforce to make it work successfully.  PLEASE put yourself forward if you possibly can.  Barbara: 07867 974275.

 

MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA: For the third year St Catherine is hosting this event on 4 Fridays in May: 7pm onwards.

10^th  Kellet Gut Shantymen – singing sea-shanties

17^th  Thanet Community Gospel Choir

24^th  Knight and Daze – Old-Time Music sing-along  

31^st  Edward Greenhalgh on organ and Coastal Choir – a mixture of musical styles

The ticket cost is £7 each or £8 at the door OR buy tickets for all 4 evenings for just £21. Contact Barbara Redman on 07720 068030.  Pay by transfer / Card reader machine available at church / cash on the door.  Refreshments will be available.  Raffle. 

 

ST LAWRENCE CLOCK APPEAL:  The total raised as at 12^th May is £8,157. We are now pleased to let you know we have now got a “Go fund me” page up and running, it can be found at https://gofund.me/581f5ddd Please pass this on to anyone who would like to donate to the fund. There are also posters up in St Laurence Church with Go fund me tags for people to take the information home.

We also have a new bank account which donations can be paid direct into. The account is with Lloyds Bank, sort code 30-99-50 and account number 37336762. The account name is St Lawrence Clock Restoration Appeal.

PENTECOST BIG PRAYER: Sunday 19^th May.  As part of a national initiative on prayer, you are invited to join in the Big Pentecost Prayer. It is very simple, we can all do it – including our young people. How? At 5.30 pm on Pentecost Sunday stop what you are doing (safely), wherever you are and say the Lord’s prayer. That’s it - BUT you will be joining with thousands of others doing the same thing at the same time.

THANET FOOD BANK: This month’s most wanted items are: cereals, tinned meals, tinned desserts, baked beans, biscuits.

 

ST MARK’S WEDNESDAY MORNING: Both the Knit and Natter group and the volunteer gardening group run on Wednesday mornings from 10 – 12am.  The gardeners are doing a splendid job of keeping the outside area tidy, clean and litter-free.  Here is a photo of some of the Knit and Natter ladies: who know how to  knit and know how to natter! ST LAURENCE SUMMER FAYRE: 13^th July. Help is required to form a committee to plan this event and for volunteers to run stalls, and the sooner we have the list of volunteers the easier it is to plan. Also, donations of raffle/tombola prizes, cakes and even cash so prizes can be bought, would be gratefully received. If you can help with the Fayre in any way, please speak to Ann Gregson or Kelly Gooding at St Laurence after the Sunday services.
