THE COLLECT FOR TODAY
Almighty Father, who in your great mercy gladdened the disciples with the sight of the risen Lord: give us such knowledge of his presence with us, that we may be strengthened and sustained by his risen life and serve you continually in righteousness and truth; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

COLLECTION FOR SUE BOOKER: Sue Booker is stepping down from her role as Parochial Warden this month. If you would like to donate to her collection as a thank you for all she has done for the Parish, you will be able to do so at tonight’s APCM, or see Alison Willoughby-Browne this morning. You will also be able to bring money to the Parish Office if you would like to.
ST. LAURENCE MEMBERS COLLECTION BOXES: Thank you to all members who took CMS collecting boxes during Lent. Please can these boxes now be handed in promptly.
MAY’S MOST WANTED FOOD BANK ITEMS: pasta, tinned soup, baked beans, tinned or packet potatoes, tinned fish. Thank you for your generosity and continued support; it really is appreciated and still so needed.
MESSAGE FROM THANET FOOD BANK: We are so grateful that you have engaged with the Lent challenge and provided so much food for Thanet Food Link in the run up to Easter. On behalf of the many people you have supported through your donations we would like to say a huge thank you. Because of gifts from kind people like you, we have been able to give food to those in need in Thanet. In March alone we provided food for 786 people. Our recipients are so grateful and often comment on how needed the food provided is. It was lovely to hear about the creative ideas you had for collecting donations, especially the idea of the exercise class that used tins of food as weights and then donated them to us. We hope that knowing you have helped to bring a little joy to the lives of some of the most in need in our community will bring you pleasure.
ANNUAL CHURCH MEETINGS:
The Annual Parochial Church Meeting (APCM) at which the two Parochial Wardens are elected and the two PCC representatives from each church approved will be this Sunday 1st May at 4:00pm in St Laurence Parish Hall.
If you would like to have a say in what our “new normal” will be, please make sure you attend the meetings so that your voice can be heard!
There will be no evening service at St. Mark’s on May 1st due to APCM Meeting.
THURSDAY FELLOWSHIP AT ST MARK on Thursday 5th May will be a talk on the Shell Grotto. This is an open meeting and all are welcome to attend! For more information, please speak to Prim Williamson at St Mark’s.
