PET SERVICE – 11am Saturday 4 October at St Laurence – with the theme of St Francis of Assisi who loved all animals. Bring your pets! Rumour has it that a tortoise is coming!
Harvest Services – all our churches celebrate Harvest Festival Services 10am on Sunday 5 October – bring your tins, pasta, rice, cereal, and fruit & veg which will go to THANET FOOD BANK: All foods and toiletries - the following are in short supply: soup, long-life milk, tinned meals, packet meals.

ROCK SOLID 2: St Laurence relaunches Sunday School this autumn for children aged 4yrs -11yrs - called Rock Solid 2 - it starts on Sunday 12 Oct and then monthly Sunday 9 Nov and Sunday 14 Dec and onwards. It will be fun-packed. Led by Marcia Neve, Andrea Holmes and Kelly Gooding - these leaders are experienced with children with autism and ADHD. All children and parents are welcome. Arrive 9.50am at the actual church for 10am start, ends 11.30am.
SPIRITUALITY HOUR: Spirituality Hour Peace filled Night Prayer & Meditation continues…and launching a new theme for the reflections ‘biblical geography’ - monthly at St Laurence in the candlelit Beckett Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm, 1st October, 5th November.
MONTHLY BIBLE STUDY, DISCUSSION & REFRESHMENTS AT THE RECTORY: Weds evenings 6.30pm at the St Laurence Rectory with discussion & refreshments. Weds 15 Oct, 19 Nov, 10 Dec and will continue in 2026. This is starting up for those new to faith and also for anyone wishing to deepen their understanding of the Bible and feel part of a supportive group. All are welcome from across the whole Parish.. Led by Revd Catherine.
PARISH WIDE PASTORAL COURSE: to increase the number of Lay people able and confident in pastoral care within this Parish and home-visiting – please speak to your church’s Focal Minister or LLM Reader if you are interested in attending. BIRTH OF ST GEORGE'S - Saturday 4th October at 3pm in St George’s Church, Ramsgate. In October 1823, parishioners of St Laurence voted to build a new church. The result was St George's. SHOE BOX SCHEME: Malcolm Story writes: A question about Blythswood Care, and the shoe box scheme. I know that Zoe was a keen advocate for the scheme in St Laurence parish. But I can't remember if there was anyone else in the parish also involved, or who that might want to be.
