COLLECT FOR TRINITY SUNDAY
O God, the strength of all those who put their trust in you, mercifully accept our prayers and, because through the weakness of our mortal nature we can do no good thing without you, grant us the help of your grace; that in the keeping of your commandments we may please you both in will and deed. BELLEPLATE AFTERNOON: Saturday 28th June, 2 - 4 pm, in St Mark Church Hall. Come along and hear a variety of music from St Mark Belleplate group. Light refreshments will be served. Donations welcome for church funds. – Jan Austin
ST LAWRENCE CLOCK APPEAL: Saturday 28th June Open Garden with strawberries and cream – running from 10:00am until 5:00pm at Thorn Gardens, CT11 7AS. There will be a chance to wander round Pat’s amazing garden taking in all the delights, while sitting and having most delicious strawberries and cream tea. There will also be a tombola and a raffle. There is no charge to enter, however Pat has requested that you donate what you think your strawberries and cream tea is worth and give what you can to the clock restoration appeal on the day. Saturday 2nd August at 3pm – an afternoon organ recital by Tim Attride in St Laurence church. Tickets will be on sale soon.
PARISHWIDE ALTOGETHER SERVICE: Sunday 29th June at St Augustine’s Cross Cottington Road Cliffsend CT12 5JB.
PARKING: 1. Park in the layby adjacent to the Cross – about 6 cars! 2. Also, it has been arranged to park at St Augustine's Golf Club CT12 5JN, for first 10 cars! To the left - Alison WB will be there to direct. 3. Park in village and walk if able. It would be best if people could car-share. THE SERVICE: will have outdoor music led by Edward Greenhalgh and the choir from St Laurence, it will include Communion and will be led by Revs Ken, Phil, Catherine, Brian with the sermon given by LLM Frances Barnes and Gospel read by LLM Amanda Madgwick. SEATING: Some folk may wish to sit on the grass, depending on the weather. Some chairs will be provided by St Mark’s but it would be helpful if you could kindly bring some of your own fold-up chairs. REFRESHMENTS: afterwards will be served at St Mary’s Church Cliffsend 56 Foads Lane CT12 5JP In the event of heavy rain, the service will be at St Mary’s Church Cliffsend… we will notify as many people as we can by text.
FAMILY WALKS: On the second Tuesday of July, August and September at 4pm we will be holding family walks starting and finishing at St Catherine. The routes will be about 4 miles in length – some circular. We will have a picnic tea in the church grounds/building afterwards and there will be a chance to view the church. Please join us with your youngsters and oldsters for these FREE sociable walks with some mindful themes. Contact Julia on 07979 989115 for any more detail. Walk 2: Tuesday 15th July at 4pm Walking with Awareness: Mindfulness & Nature The walk will take us to Flete, Lydden and Coldswood with many lovely views and even some Alpacas! Walk 3: Tuesday 12th August at 4pm Walking As Pilgrimage to Sacred Place We walk as pilgrims to St Augustine’s Cross near Cliffsend. Walk 4: Tuesday 16 September at 4pm Walking with Biblical Landscape During this walk to Pegwell Bay, biblical landscapes will be brought to our imaginations.
THANET FOOD BANK: All items of long-shelf-life food is very welcome, but the stocks of baked beans, tinned desserts, packet meals, pasta, shampoo, shower gel, toilet rolls are particularly low.
SPIRITUALITY HOUR: Spirituality Hour continues monthly at Saint Laurence in the candlelit Beckett Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm. 2nd July, 6th August, 3rd September.
