THE COLLECT FOR TODAY
God our redeemer, you have delivered us from the power of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of your Son: grant, that as by his death he has recalled us to life, so by his continual presence in us he may raise us to eternal joy; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever. Amen.
THOUGHT OF THE WEEK
Prayer includes praise and thanksgiving, intercession and petition, meditation and confession. In prayer we focus fully on our God.

NOTICES AND FORTHCOMING EVENTS
ROGATION SERVICE: The Parish Rogation Service is today at St Catherine’s Church, Manston, which involves walking round the village blessing the crops, starting at 6.00pm.
ASCENSION DAY SERVICE: The Parish Ascension Day Service of Holy Communion starting will be on at Thursday 26th May at 11:00am in the Becket Chapel at St. Laurence.
THANK YOU FROM SUE BOOKER: Many, many thanks for the very generous gifts and wonderful messages which I was given on Sunday. I so appreciated the very kind observations by Rev Andrew. I wish to take this opportunity to share that Parochial Church Wardens can only be as good as the support they receive from the Ministry Team, PCC and LLTs and this goes for all that takes place in the Parish. We need to work together to share with all the communities around us what wonderful work is being done – from sharing contacting our less mobile members on a regular basis, being a sides person, cleaning, leading services to volunteering to run the Parish Office. Financially supporting the Parish is very important, but it is all those so called ‘little tasks’ which are even more important to keep all churches in the Parish open and telling everyone we are here. CHRISTIAN AID WEEK: Christian Aid week is drawing to a close. How would you feel if you were left on your own to feed a family where crops did not thrive because of climate change? This week’s appeal is to support families in Zimbabwe. Please use the red envelopes to support families to grow more suitable crops. Seal your donation in the envelope and hand in to a church official. If you can, use the large red flap to make a Gift Aid declaration. Thank you.
