Walking with Biblical Landscape

During this walk to Pegwell Bay, biblical landscapes will be brought to our imaginations.

THANET FOOD BANK: All items of long-shelf-life food is very welcome, but the stocks of

baked beans, ring-pull tinned desserts, tinned fish and tinned meals are particularly low.

SPIRITUALITY HOUR: Spirituality Hour continues monthly at St Laurence in the candlelit Beckett Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm,10th September, 1st October, 5th November

19^th December: the Thanet Light Orchestra will be performing a Christmas Concert.

HERITAGE OPEN DAY Saturday 13^th September. St Laurence church will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm for anyone to come and visit. We require people to help with the event. There is a signup sheet in St Laurence Church with various jobs on, (refreshments, church sitting, church tours, meet and greet, clock information stand, bell information stand).  Please sign up to do what you can. We will need refreshments, so cakes, scones, biscuits etc on the day will be very welcome, just add your name to the refreshment helpers and a note of what you can offer. We intend to offer a have a go at bellringing experience but will need people to be in church should we get anyone wishing to go up the tower. If you can’t get to the sign-up sheet please contact Freda with your offer of help.

RIDE AND STRIDE: Saturday, 13^th September, 10:00 – 17:00.  Each of our churches (except St Christopher’s) will be open to receive riders and walkers who are taking part in this event.  You can also be sponsored to man the church.  50% of the amount raised is returned to the church where it was raised.  The other 50% is used to provide grants for Kent churches.

PARISH WIDE PASTORAL COURSE: to increase the number of Lay people able and confident in pastoral care within this Parish and home-visiting – please speak to your church’s Focal Minister or LLM Reader if you are interested in attending. Venue: St Christopher’s 11am- 1pm Saturdays 20 Sept 18 Oct, 15 Nov.
