THE COLLECT FOR TODAY

[Apologies – last week’s collect and this week’s have swapped places]

Lord, you have taught us that all our doings without love are nothing worth: send your Holy Spirit and pour into our hearts that most excellent gift of love and true bond of peace and of all virtues, without which whoever lives is counted dead before you. Grant this for your only Son Jesus Christ’s sake, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit - one God, now and forever. Amen.

THOUGHT FOR THE WEEK

“Our greatest power as nations and individuals is not the ability to employ assault weapons, suicide bombers, and drones to destroy each other. The greater more creative powers with which we may arm ourselves are grace and compassion sufficient enough to love and save each other.” -Aberjhani

PEOPLE FOR PRAYER

ST CHRISTOPHER UPDATE: A team of volunteers working with Newington Community have worked wonders on the grounds of St Christopher’s and what is happening and plans for what will happen will feature heavily in the next PCC. We have heard lots of positives from locals but still there is a problem with vandalism, which appears to be down to outsiders and “territorial” one-up-manship, according to local sources.

ST MARK UPDATE: The stage in the St Mark Hall is now refurbished and fully functional so Broadstairs Folk Week Committee will review the stage in case of any need during the festival this year. The next phase of new windows is ongoing, lots of quotes are in AND the sound system engineer is coming this week.

FILM AT THE VUE CINEMA: “Jesus Revolution” (12A) is being shown at The Vue cinema on Sunday, 25th June, 2pm and Tuesday, 27th June at 3.30pm.
