GOOD-TO-KNOW GROUPS: We have been contacted by Independent Age asking us to share the following:

Good to Know telephone groups invite a different guest speaker each week to discuss issues that matter to older people. Topics include scams, the cost-of-living crisis, social care, benefits and finding new social connections - things that are simply 'Good To Know' about.  Think of these groups like a cup of tea and a chat at a community centre, but over the phone in the comfort of your living room. The groups are particularly great for older people unable to get out and about or to online activities.

You can find out more by visiting: www.independentage.org/get-support/telephone-groups/good-to-know-groups or by calling 0800 319 6789

LIGHTING OF MANSTON CHRISTMAS TREE:  Saturday, 2nd December, 4pm. Manston Parish Council and St Catherine’s church are hosting a festive treat to mark the lighting of the tree.  Hot soup and a bread roll will be served along with mince-pies and refreshments.

CAROLLING CAFÉ: Sunday 3rd December 4pm at St Christopher’sAs part of the efforts to recreate St Christopher’s as a community space, as a parish, we will be hosting an informal Carol Event with barbecue.  It will take the efforts of all the other churches in our benefice to make it happen, so please step forward in any capacity to enhance this fun event – contact Kevin Spain (Parochial Warden) on kmschurchwarden @hotmail.com or leave a message for him via phone at the parish office on 592478.

ST LAURENCE CHRISTMAS BAZAAR: Saturday 9th December 10:30-13:00 Bazaar in St Laurence Church and Festive Pantry (in partnership with Chartwell House Residential Home) in the Parish Hall.  Donations for the Festive Pantry will be most welcomed, please either contact Judith Andrews or take them to your church.

CHRISTMAS ACTIVITIES AT OUR CHURCHES: We will publish a list of all the events at all the churches.

CLOTHING BANK: Cheryl (07398 038366) is still taking donations of second-hand clothing to the clothing bank at Westwood.  It is generating a good income for the church.
