Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them, that, through patience and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life; which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit - one God, now and for ever. Amen.

ST LAWRENCE CLOCK APPEAL: We are pleased to announce that the quiz made a fantastic amount of £524.00. This brings our running total on 21st October 2024 to £10,577.
ORGAN RECITAL: Saturday 23rd November: Following the very successful recital by Tim in April, we are pleased to welcome him back at 3:00pm in St Laurence church. Tickets are on sale now £5.00 per person. Tickets can be purchased from Freda every Sunday mornings after the service or on 07732864076. Tickets will also be available on the door. There will be refreshments after the recital.
CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Friday 20th December: A Christmas Concert by Thanet Light Orchestra in St Laurence Church. Doors open at 7:00pm for a 7:30pm start. Tickets £10.00 per person, include refreshments, are on sale now. To book and guarantee a seat contact Freda, either after Sunday morning service or on 07732864076 or available on the door.
Coming in 2025: Quiz night booked for January, another concert by Edward and the Coastal Choir in May, the very popular Art Show and of course more quizzes. Looking forward to seeing you at our events soon. - Freda Parker (Tower Captain)
BELLRINGING: The bell ringers will be very active over the next few months, we will be ringing to the St Laurence in Thanet Junior Academy School service this coming Friday, followed by ringing half muffled for the All Souls service on 3rd November, and Remembrance Sunday. We will be also very busy in December. This is on top of ringing for every Sunday service and practice nights. We are still looking for new recruits of any age, ideally from 10 to 90, to come forward and learn to ring the bells to keep this valuable service: the “voice” of the church sounding out. If you, or someone you know, are curious about the bells, how they are rung, would like to contribute to the life of the church, want to learn something new and make loads of new friends then please contact Freda, Tower Captain, on 07732 864076 or towercaptain@stlaurenceparish-ramsgate.org.uk
ALL SOULS SERVICE: Sunday, 3rd November, 3pm at St Laurence Church. Led by ALM Marcia, the Footprints team and Revd Ken - this is a parish-wide service to remember your loved ones - you can light a candle in remembrance and write a name tag that will be kept for Christmastime.

CHRISTMAS CRAFT FAIR: Saturday, 9th November,10:00 – 14:00, St Nicholas at Wade church.
SAFEGUARDING: Saturday, 23rd November, 10:30-13:00. Doors open from 10:00 for registration. This training will culminate in a certificate (valid only within the St Laurence parish). There will be further dates if you are unable to attend on this occasion. It is important that all 5 churches attend, so please have your representatives ready sooner rather than later. – Contact Kevin Spain as soon as possible to let him know who will be attending – see back page for contact details.
WEEK OF ACCOMPANIED PRAYER: 24th – 30th November. This will be something that you can access at home via “Zoom” on your computer. Opening service: Sun 24th at 4:30, Mon – Fri 30 minutes of prayer and talk time with a prayer partner, Sat 30th Closing service at 9:30. CHRISTMAS CONCERT: Saturday, 14th December, 7pm at St Catherine’s THANET COMMUNITY GOSPEL CHOIR. Refreshments will be served during the interval. There will be a small raffle. Ticket price to be announced later.
THANET FOOD BANK: Most wanted items for October are: tinned fish, biscuits, meat/fish paste, tea bags, tinned vegetables. Please either take to your church for collection or deliver to the depot.
