Should you have a gluten allergy and wish to receive communion please let one of the sides people know at least 10 minutes before the service starts so that a gluten free wafer may be provided (St Laurence).

If you would like to wear a face covering or mask for your own comfort, you are more than welcome to do so.

OPEN CHURCH AT St LAURENCE:  This will run on every Saturday of each month through the summer: 4 May - 31 August. 10 – 2pm. Barbara Byne organises the rota and is looking for volunteers to man the 2-hour sessions: morning/afternoon.  This is important outreach work and really requires quite a workforce to make it work successfully.  PLEASE put yourself forward if you possibly can.  Barbara: 07867 974275.

 

MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA: For the third year St Catherine is hosting this event on 4 Fridays in May: 7pm onwards.

10^th  Kellet Gut Shantymen – singing sea-shanties

17^th  Thanet Community Gospel Choir

24^th  Knight and Daze – Old-Time Music sing-along  

31^st  Edward Greenhalgh on organ and Coastal Choir – a mixture of musical styles

The ticket cost is £7 each or £8 at the door OR buy tickets for all 4 evenings for just £21. Contact Barbara Redman on 07720 068030.  Pay by transfer / Card reader machine available at church / cash on the door.  Refreshments will be available.  Raffle. 

 

ST LAWRENCE CLOCK APPEAL:

Saturday May 11^th We have a stall at the History Day in Ramsgate Tunnels from 10:00 to 4:00pm. Please come down and support us.

Saturday May 18^th Quiz Night. Doors open at 6:30pm for a prompt 7:00pm start with our very own Quiz Master Sharon Culter asking the fun and tricky questions. Tickets £5.00, pre book to guarantee a table, teams of up to eight are welcome. This is a very popular event and tables do go very quickly!! Please contact Freda on 07732864076 to book your place. Please bring your own, drinks, glasses and nibbles. There will be a raffle on the night.

BELL SUNDAY SERVICE: 10am, Sunday 12^th May at St Laurence.  A special service which will be led by Rev Ken Cox and the Bell Ringers of St Laurence Church. Please come along to meet the bell ringers of YOUR parish, you might even find a new hobby to take up after listening to why the ringers ring the bells.

 

PARISH NEWS: Please, if you have any news about what has been/will be happening in your church, do send me some words to print here.  Without “The Beacon”, which used to be published regularly, we are not hearing about the other churches in our parish.
