Blessed Lord, who caused all holy Scriptures to be written for our learning: help us so to hear them, to read, mark, learn and inwardly digest them that, through patience and the comfort of your holy word, we may embrace and for ever hold fast the hope of everlasting life, which you have given us in our Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit - one God, now and forever. Amen.

ST LAWRENCE CLOCK RESTORATION APPEAL: Thank you to everyone who either attended the quiz last Saturday or donated raffle prizes. We raised £468.00 for the clock appeal which takes our total to just over £6,000.

Friday 3rd November. A CONCERT in St Laurence church by the Coastal Choir. Doors open at 7:00pm for a prompt 7:30pm start. Tickets pre-purchased £8.00 or £10.00 on the night. We can take card payment on the door on the night, with all proceeds going to the clock restoration fund. The Coastal Choir is led by our own organist Edward Greenhalgh, and we look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at this fund-raising event. There will be refreshments available to purchase during the interval.

Date for your 2024 diary, January 27th Quiz Night, details will be publicised soon.

If you are unable to get along to any of the mentioned events or wish to make a regular monthly donation, remember you can donate direct to the clock restoration fund by bank transfer/online banking or standing order. MINI CHRISTMAS FAYRE: 4th November, 10:00 – 12:00 at St Mark’s .  There will be cakes, books, jewellery and Christmas Mice!

SAYING GOODBYE SERVICE: 4th November, 11:30, Canterbury Cathedral. This service is aimed at parents and families who have experienced losing a baby at any stage of pregnancy, at birth or in infancy, or have lived with the fact that they are unable to have children – for whatever reason.  This might have happened recently or years ago.  You can find out more by visiting the website sayinggoodbye.org

DEMENTIA CAFÉ/NOSTALGIA CAFÉ : 11:30-13:30 on the first Monday of each month at Chartwell House, Star Lane, Westwood. This is a group aiming to support families living with dementia and point them towards other support services in the local community.  On Monday 6th November Jon Nicoles will be providing entertainment.

FOOTPRINTS: Next meeting: Tuesday 7th November,  14th November Fish and Chip lunch in the parish hall.  12:15 for 12:30.  Marcia 01843 585366

THANET FOOD LINK: October’s most need items are: pasta sauce, tea bags, coffee, long-life milk, cereals.  Thank you for your continued support.  Items can be gathered in our individual churches and then transported to the hub behind B&Q.
