Notices and Forthcoming Events
ST CHRISTOPHER’S: Kevin Spain, one of our parochial churchwardens, has provided an update on the situation at St Christopher’s. There has been persistent malicious damage to the property involving doors, roof and guttering and metal down-pipes removed, the kitchen ventilator units have been vandalised and there has been some graffiti.
Ecclesiastical Insurers have been speedy in their authorisation of repairs and 2 local companies have repaired and secured the property. However, as fast as things are put right, they are damaged again. The grounds have been recently cleared by a community workforce but there is much resultant debris to be removed and some other rubbish and garden waste is appearing. The perimeter fence is in such bad state that it needs to be removed. The grounds need to remain open so that any activity can be seen easily. The Royal Harbour Academy has been involved with litter-picking and MITIE Security Services has offered support for part of the year. The situation has been discussed at this week’s PCC meeting and the diocese is to be asked for both advice and help. Judith Andrews is meeting with Jonathan Arnold and Archdeacon Will on Friday, 28th July.
THURSDAY FELLOWSHIP: The only meeting during the summer holiday time is:
