It is with sadness that we have to tell you that Freda (Zoe’s mother) passed away 2 weeks ago, having lived to the great age of 106.

FAMILY WALKS: Start and finish at St Catherine’s. Bring a picnic tea to have at the church afterwards. Drinks will be provided. Our final one for this season is 4pm Tues 16 September – we look forward to seeing you. Walk 4: Walking with Biblical Landscape During this walk to Pegwell Bay, biblical landscapes will be brought to our imaginations. Contact Julia on 07979 989115 for any more detail.
THANET FOOD BANK: All items of long-shelf-life food is very welcome, but the stocks of baked beans, ring-pull tinned desserts, tinned fish and tinned meals are particularly low.
SPIRITUALITY HOUR: Spirituality Hour Peace filled Night Prayer & Meditation continues…and launching a new theme for the reflections ‘biblical geography’ - monthly at St Laurence in the candlelit Beckett Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm, 10th September, 1st October, 5th November.
HERITAGE OPEN DAY Saturday 13th September. St Laurence will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm for anyone to come and visit. We request people to help with the event. (refreshments, church sitting, church tours, meet and greet, clock information stand, bell information stand). We also request refreshments, so cakes, scones, biscuits etc on the day will be very welcome, just add your name to the refreshment helpers and a note of what you can offer. We intend to offer a have a go at bellringing experience but will need people to be in church should we get anyone wishing to go up the tower. There is a signup sheet in St Laurence’s with various jobs on, if you can’t get to the sign-up sheet please ring or text Freda on 07732864076 with your offer of help.
RIDE AND STRIDE: Saturday, 13th September, 10:00 – 17:00. Each of our churches will be open to receive riders and walkers who are taking part in this event. You can also be sponsored to person the church. 50% of the amount raised is returned to the church where it was raised. The other 50% is used to provide grants for Kent churches. Contact Kevin Spain

ART EXHIBITION: Public Launch: Friday 26th September 6–9pm Seasons of Faith: From my heART. A painting exhibition by Michael Williamson – personal view of the church seasons 7 calendar. Cold buffet served from 6pm, at 7:30pm guided tour of the paintings with three people covering theology, art historic lens, contemporary reflection.
