READINGS FOR TODAY
Isaiah 11:1-10, Psalm 72:1-7&18-19, Romans 1:.4-13, Matthew 3:1-12
COLLECT and POST COMMUNION PRAYER for TODAY
Collect: O Lord, raise up, we pray, your power and come among us. And with great might succour us; that whereas, through our sins and wickedness we are grievously hindered in running the race that is set before us, your bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us. Through Jesus Christ, your Son, our Lord, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit be honour and glory, now and for ever. Amen.
Post Communion: Father in heaven, who sent your Son to redeem the world and will send him again to be our judge: give us grace so to imitate him in the humility and purity of his first coming that, when he comes again, we may be ready to greet him with joyful love and firm faith. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

SUPPORT FOR UKRAINE: Graham Elliott of St Catherine’s Church in Manston has recently returned from Ukraine, having driven a 4x4 vehicle there for use in supporting the front line. He thanks all those who gave donations to him after the service at St Mark’s last Sunday. He received £180, which has been paid into the donorbox account - https://donorbox.org/ukrainegraham. In total, Graham has now raised over £4000. Thank you very much indeed.
ST CHRISTOPHER: Keep fit and help out at the same time… with the Happy Mondays Group who are helping to clear & garden at St Christophers Princess Margaret Ave Newington CT12 6LG - every Thursday 12noon-3pm from now until Christmas. Just turn up dressed appropriately.

BELLEPLATE CHRISTMAS MUSIC: Saturday 13 December from 2 - 4 pm at St Mark Hall. Come along and listen to/sing along to carols and other Christmas music played by St Mark Belleplate group. Free admission. Refreshments. For more information contact Janice Austin
Thursday 18 Dec 2pm Acorn Seniors Club Christmas lunch with gentle music played by St Laurence Junior Academy pupils – organised by Marion A and Maria S – you are welcome to attend as a helper!
ROCK SOLID 2: St Laurence continues Sunday School this autumn for children aged 4yrs -11yrs - called Rock Solid 2. It runs monthly, the next being Sunday 14 Dec, Sunday 11 Jan and onwards. It is fun-packed. Led by Kelly, Marion, Marcia, Andrea and Barrie - these leaders are experienced with children with autism and ADHD. All children and parents are welcome. Arrive 9.50am at the actual church for 10am start, ends 11.30am. And children are welcome in church every week.
