THE COLLECT FOR TODAY
Almighty God, who, through your only begotten son Jesus Christ, have overcome death and opened to us the gate of everlasting life: grant that, as by your grace going before us, you put into our minds good desires; so by your continual help we may bring them to good effect. Through Jesus Christ our risen Lord, who is alive and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit - one God, now and forever. Amen.

SIGHT-LOSS FRIENDSHIP CLUB: Chartwell House (new residential home at Westwood, CT94FY) is hosting this newly-formed club, 12:30-15:00 bi-monthly. £10 includes lunch and activities. Please ring 01843 264865 to book.

CORONATION CELEBRATIONS: “Bring and Share” lunches are planned for Sunday 7th May at St Laurence, St Mark and St Catherine. Please feel free to invite friends and family to join us.
RINGING FOR THE KING: The 3 days of special bell-ringing to celebrate the coronation continue with: Sunday 7th May , 9:00 quarter peal. Monday 8th May, 10:00 quarter peal

MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA: St Catherine’s church is, once again, hosting four Fridays of Music.
12 May: Greyhound Buskers (popular songs from the 60s onwards and jollity)
19 May: Thanet Community Gospel Choir (a lively mix of gospel-inspired songs), 26 May: Kelly Richardson (vocalist, performing hits from the 60s onwards),
2 June: part 1 - Matt Weston (organist playing favourite hymns),
part 2 - Kellet Gut Shantymen (sea-shanties).
Tickets £7 in advance, £8 on door. Or buy tickets for all 4 events for the price of 3: £21. Refreshments available, including wine and nibbles. BELL RINGING: District Bell Practice 10-12:00 on 20th May, St Laurence Tower.
- CHURCH: From this coming Saturday, 13th May, until the end of September St Laurence Church will be open on Saturdays from 10am – 2pm for visitors to look around. Refreshments will be available and a book-sale table. If anyone would like to volunteer as a “church watcher” please contact Barbara Byne on 7867974275. FOOD BANK: Although the parish office is not always open and available to take food donations, you can take them to your church and we will liaise about taking the food over to the food bank. Or you can take your donations directly there – Unit 3c, Westwood Business Park, Strasbourg Street, Margate CT9 3JJ (behind B&Q/ Home Bargains).
If the warehouse is closed there is a chest where items can be left safely in the business park central office lobby (first door on left as you enter the ‘courtyard’).
