SAFEGUARDING TRAINING:  Thursday, 13th March, 7pm at St Mark’s.  If you haven’t yet sent a representative from your church for safeguarding training you are urged emphatically to attend this evening.  Each church should have a named safeguarding officer, which should be displayed for all to see.  Kevin Spain is the over-seeing officer for the entire parish.    PARISHWIDE CONFIRMATION & DISCIPLESHIP COURSE 2025: at St. Laurence Church.  Every regular participant will be supplied with the course book: Faith Confirmed by Jackson & Wright.  Each session is 12 noon – 2pm with picnic lunch as a break in the middle. This is not only for Confirmation candidates but for all to refresh and deepen their faith & discipleship as well, and is essentially our Lent Course – It will be led by: Revd Catherine, Revd Ken, Revd Phil, LLM Frances and LLM Judith. The course continues on the following dates: Saturday15 March 12 noon - 2pm The Eucharist and The Sacraments Sunday 16 March 2.30pm Deanery Confirmation Service at St Peter’s   SPIRITUALITY HOUR Spirituality Hour continues monthly at Saint Laurence in the candlelit Chapel – refreshments at 7pm for 7.30pm 2nd April 7th May 4th June   ST LAURENCE CLOCK APPEAL: We are pleased to advise by the end of February we have reached a total of £14,066. This has been boosted by help from the Thanet Community Lotto. To take part go to Thanet Community Lotto - Support a good cause & maybe even win big! - Thanet Community Lotto and search St Lawrence Clock Restoration Appeal. Donations to the appeal can also be made via our Just Giving page, there is further information in St Laurence Church on this. The next quiz will be on Saturday 5th April in the Parish Hall – Please keep the date free.   ANNUAL GENERAL MEETINGS: Note the date: Annual Parochial Church Meeting – Sunday 18th May 12.45pm at St Mark’s (refreshments/lunch beforehand from 12 noon). Dates of Annual Church Meetings (ACM) to be arranged by the Local Leadership Team (LLT) of each church.  To be a member of the LLT you need to be on the electoral roll and this year everyone who wishes to be on the ER must fill in a new form.   CLOTHES BANK: Cheryl Belsey is still taking our parish donations of 2nd-hand clothing to the clothes bank to raise funds.  She is happy to collect articles from the office, but cannot make collections from individual houses.  Many thanks.   MAY MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA:  This annual event will be happening at St Catherine’s once again on four of the Fridays in May. The performers this year are: Knight and Daze (vocals, guitar, keyboard, sing-along), Mud Chalk (vocals, guitar, keyboard), David Lamner (organ and keyboard), Greyhound Buskers (ukeleles, vocals). Please do put the dates in your diary! Performances will start at 7pm.  £8 per evening or £24 for all 4, if booked in advance.  £9 on the door.
